imagesJesse Magdaleno has withdrawn from his fight with Erik Ruiz, which was scheduled to take place next Saturday, October 25th. The bout was scheduled to be the televised co-feature of a UniMas broadcast on a Top Rank card with 2012 Olympian Jose Ramirez taking on David Rodela as the main event.

Boxingscene.com first reported the news, confirmed by manager Frank Espinoza.

According to Espinoza, Magdaleno withdrew from the fight because his Las Vegas home was broken into while training in Indio, California with trainer Joel Diaz. While no specifics were given, the thieves did get away with several of Magdaleno’s possessions.

Christopher Worstell, Ruiz’s manager, told Boxingscene that his fighter will remain on the card against a “suitable opponent.”

Magdaleno is closing in on a title shot and has competed twice in 2014, winning his last fight by 7th round TKO back on August 2nd against Carlos Rodriguez.

The October 25th card will also feature Top Rank promoted heavyweight Andy Ruiz. Ruiz will square off against Kenny Lemos.
