Jose ‘Quiebra Jícara’ Alfaro Steps on The Gas for Daud Yordan Bout

    Former 135 pound world champion Jose “Quiebra Jicara” Alfaro (26-8-1, 22KO’s) has stepped on the has in his training camp for his upcoming fight on July 6th against Indonesian Daud Yordan (30-3, 23KO’s) which will take place in Australia for the IBO lightweight world title.

    Alfaro has not fought since September of last year in a bout which ended in a draw against Winston Campos. The native from Leon, Nicaragua has stayed in the gym though preparing for the next fight to come. “I’ve managed to see some videos of Indonesian fighter and I believe without a doubt that I have the tools to beat him. I like this opportunity that my promoter, Prodesa, has managed to get me to give a new boost to my career. I want to be world champion again and with the experience I have gained, I think I’ll make it, “said Alfaro.

    On Tuesday Alfaro had a tough sparring session against Oliver Leon Flores (23-1-2,16KO’s), a 21 year old prospect who has the potential to go far with the right training and determination. The fighters sparred for four rounds. “These four rounds that I did with Oliver will serve me well because he is a strong fighter who boxes and counterattacks,” said Alfaro. “I will go into battle in Australia ready for victory because of my training.”
