downloadAccording to Promoter Fernando Beltran, Juan Manuel Marquez is desperate to get back in the ring soon. Beltran is set to meet with Marquez this month and a plan will be set into place on the future of Marquez’ career.

In an interview with ESPN Deportes Beltran says, “What Marquez has told me is that he’s dying to get back in the ring. We’re going to be together in the next coming days and see how he feels. For Marquez there are plenty of options because he’s one of the best Mexican fighters of the last couple of years.

Marquez has said the future of his career depended on his health and most importantly the health of his knee which has been bugging him for the last few fights.

On the knee, Beltran says, “Right now we’re going to listen to him, ask him about his knee, and see how it has been reacting to workouts. The most important thing is his health because if he would want to retire now, it wouldn’t be a problem because he’s accomplished so much. He’s a first ballot hall of famer and a legend so if he would want to retire, we’d back him but if he wants to continue fighting, we’ll be looking to getting him the biggest fights.
