On March 13th Jessica McCaskill proved her victory over Cecilia Brækhus last year was no fluke. McCaskill was able to land that overhand right continuously throughout the fight and rock Brækhus to the point where it felt a stoppage was coming. The stoppage never came but it turned out to be a hell of a fight.

After the fight, McCaskill was asked who is next and she would love a fight with Claressa Shields or a rematch with Katie Taylor. Should none of those fights happen Kali Reis is more than willing to step into the ring with McCaskill.

“Put me in coach,” Tweeted Reis in response to the possible match-up.

Reis fought Brækhus back in 2018 and despite losing a unanimous decision she put Brækhus on the canvas. Reis is open to a rematch but feels Brækhus has no interest and her career does not revolve around another fighter.

“A lot of peeps think I beat [Cecilia]. At the end of the day it is what it is. I take my L’s & keep on trucking. I wanna run it back w Cece but hey, I wouldn’t fight me again either. My career has NEVER revolved around ANY 1 fighter. It is a spectators sport tho. Give it to’em.” Reis last fought in November of 2020 when she won the vacant WBA Super Lightweight Title against Canada’s Kandi Wyatt.
