downloadAmir Khan has a big task in front of him this weekend when he takes on former welterweight titlist Devon Alexander. If Khan takes care of business his shot at a big fight against Floyd Mayweather increases. He has also been mentioned by Freddie Roach as a possible Manny Pacquiao opponent. Then of course there is the all UK class between him and Kell Brook.

But Khan is dead set on landing a fight with the two biggest names of the sport before a Kell Brook fight.

“”There’s talk about a fight with me and Kell Brook, but we are still young,” Khan said in an interview with ESPN. “Kell Brook is still learning and I’m in a position where I want the big fights against Mayweather or Pacquiao to happen next year.”

Reason for Khan’s stance is that he feels that Brook is young and that fight would be there down the road but he wants a crack at the top 2 guys in the sport before they retire.

“A fight with Kell Brook is a fight I would give them but only when it’s right for me and right now I have got the Alexander fight next and maybe then a big fight. I’ll see if a fight with Mayweather or Pacquiao can happen. Maybe after that it can happen. I will be back in the UK very soon, after my next two fights, maybe against Brook.”
