Amir KhanAmir Khan will be one of the many millions watching the fight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao. Khan will be an interesting observer because should he beat his May 29th opponent Chris Algieri, he might be in line for either. Khan feels both guys are looking great heading into fight week.

“Looking at both of them, I did follow both fights on Instagram and Twitter. Both guys look sharp,” Khan told Fighthype.com. “It’s the best I’ve seen Manny Pacquiao look and Floyd Mayweather too. It’s the biggest fight in their careers, and you can see it by their training. A lot of people lost hope, and now people are so excited because of it.”

Khan said he has laid low about the fight because he didn’t want to try and ride the spotlight but says he will be in Las Vegas this week.

“Whoever wins this fight is going to be known as one of the best fighters who ever lived,” Khan said. “That’s how big this is to each of them. It’s just good that from both camps especially from Manny’s camp saying why isn’t Amir calling out the winner. I think it would have been disrespectful to call out the winner ever since the fight was announced. I’m not going to jump on the bandwagon to get a bit of the fame, why am I going to do that. I kept quiet.”

Roach was the one that made the comment of Khan being scared. But Khan says it’s exactly the opposite.

“Freddie said if Amir really had balls, he should call out the winner, I’m not scared and I would fight the winner but I don’t want to do it because I would have probably criticized it,” Khan said. “I’m not scared, but I didn’t want to disrespect the fight. I’m going to let the focus be on that fight.”

If Khan was Pacquiao, he feels Pacquiao must get inside to win.

“Manny is a little bit shorter than Floyd,” stated Khan.” He will have to get in there. Floyd is a good single punch fighter. He has good footwork in a way that will make you miss. If I was Manny Pacquiao, I would smother him, not let him settle in and get inside which I think Manny can. If Floyd gets his distance, he will just pick your apart.”

For Floyd, distance will be key.

“If I wad Floyd, I’d keep distance, box him. Manny tries to come in a little too high, throw punches and bunches. I think Mayweather will time him and pick him off.”
