On September 13th Steve “The Dragon” Claggett (16-2-1, 11 KO’s) will get to fight for the vacant Canadian welterweight title against Francesco Cotroni (7-2, 4 KO’s) of Mascouce, Quebec. The bout will take place on the “Killer Instinct” card that will take place at the Shaw Conference Centre in Edmonton, AB. with Claggett headlining the event. This will mark the third time that Claggett has fought in Edmonton this year.
Claggett was hoping to face off against top Canadian fighter Samuel Vargas but an agreement between the two fighters could not be reached and the bad blood began between the two.
On the undercard six bouts will take place.
Rob Nichols (6-1, 4 KO’s) will face off against Nick Penner (3-0, 2 KO’s) in a six round cruiserweight bout.
Max Gagne (2-2-1, 1 KO) will face off against Brad Soanes (2-4-1, 1 KO) in a four round light heavyweight bout.
Paul MacKenzie will fight in the heavyweight division after fighting at cruiserweight against an opponent yet to be determined in a four round bout.
Ryan Molner (1-0, 1 KO) will face off against Kye Sobo (1-2, 1 KO) in a four round lightweight bout.
Thomas Speirs will make his professional debut against Gary Kopas (4-5, 1 KO) in a four round cruiserweight bout.
Josh Wagner will make his debut against an opponent yet to be determined at an undisclosed weight.
