Leonard Bundu from Italy smiles at the wTha Boxing Voice caught up with contender Leonard Bundu who just dropped to (32-1,11 KOs) after loosing to Keith Thurman (24-0, 21 KOs) this past Saturday night. We spoke to Bundu about his tough fight with Thurman and what he learned from Thurman in facing the young rising star.

Bundu said to us, “He does have the potential to be a star. He has tremendous punching power and good boxing skills. He still has to improve a bit, a couple of more fights to get the big fights he wants to get.” The big fight notably being a potential Mayweather fight, Thurman needs to impress in every fight. Against Bundu, Thurman did not impress too many people in the fight causing some to say Thurman was exposed. We asked Bundu if he thought he exposed Thurman. Bundu saying with a smile, “Well he fought against me. I consider myself one of the top guys.” Bundu continued, “I don’t think he got exposed, but he has to rethink his plans to fight Mayweather or Pacquiao.”

Some people may say that was the exact reason why they say Thurman was exposed, because everyone was ready to put Thurman in the ring with Mayweather or Pacquiao. This fight potentially showed Thurman is not ready for that challenge. No talks of Thurman fighting any of said names in the near future, so look for Thurman to climb the ladder to put his name in the big fight sweepstakes.
