London (25 February) Liam Hunt is looking to please the crowd on a “massive occasion” at the City Academy, Bristol, on March 1st.

The Weston-super-Mare middleweight, Hunt, is scheduled to make his professional debut and is hoping he can emulate his amateur success in the pro ranks.

“This is a massive occasion for me,” Liam said.

“I had a short but very successful amateur career and I want to translate that over to the professional game.

“I like to fight in close and please the crowd and it will be great to make my debut on the undercard of a future world champion in James DeGale.”

Hunt fights on 2008 Beijing Olympic Gold Medallist, DeGale’s, undercard as he defends WBC SIlver super middleweight title defence against undefeated former IBO Youth champion Gevorg Katchikian.

DeGale meets Katchikian, who boasts a perfect record of 20-0, ahead of his WBC sanctioned final eliminator against Floyd Mayweather promoted Badou Jack.

Also scheduled to fight on the March 1st show is Bristol’s own British bantamweight champion Lee Haskins and a whole host of talent, including local Bristol fighters Dan Sarkozi,  Lee Nutland and Ashley Lane in his professional debut.
