Luis Collazo: ‘If I Could Fight Floyd Mayweather at the Barclays it Would Be Insane’

Tha Boxing Voice caught up with Luis Collazo after his stunning second round knockout victory over Victor Ortiz last Thursday and talked about some possible future opponents. When Collazo was asked what fighter he would want to face if it were up to him. Here’s what he had to say. “Hey whatever the fans want, whatever my team can make happen, and if it is worth my while, I am all in.”

Collazo basically said what any fighter would say when asked who they want to fight but when pressed further he went on to say, “Floyd, that’s the guy to beat.  He’s undefeated.  If I could fight Floyd at the Barclays it would be insane.”

Collazo’s future looks bright, and he is a lot better than many people give him credit for.  Even after this impressive win, he will still probably be the underdog against most of the top welterweights in the division just as he was against Victor Ortiz, but nevertheless he seems poised and ready to score the upset and throw a monkey wrench into any of the top contender’s dreams.

We probably won’t see Collazo in there with Floyd Mayweather anytime soon but hopefully he finds himself in another high profile fight, possibly against a Marcos  Maidana or Shawn Porter, sometime in the near future.
