Henry “Hank” Lundy (25-4-1, 12 KOs) was scheduled to face Petr Petrov (35-4-2, 17 KOs) Friday night on the co main event of Willie Monroe Jr. vs. Byan Vera airing on Jan. 16 on ESPN 2, but the fight was cancelled due to Lundy’s inability to make weight. Lundy came in weighing 139lbs, which is four pounds over the weight limit that was originally agreed upon when making the bout.
Many people were anticipating Lundy’s immediate return to the ring just after a month from losing a very competitive split decision bout against Thomas Dulorme at the Barclay Center, but unfortunately Lundy’s return to the ring will be postponed.
It is also noted Petrov did make weight by coming in at 133.5lbs, but will not have an opponent which means his long duration out of the ring will continue. Petrov is coming off three consecutive wins, but the last time he was in the ring was in May 23, of 2014.
