Mahasin-Ocegueda Set For August 2nd

Junior welterweight Bilal Mahasin (4-1) of Oakland, CA now has an opponent named for his bout August 2nd in Pleasanton, CA at The Exhibition Hall in the Alameda County Fairgrounds as undefeated Fabian Ocegueda of East LA will take the challenge. Ocegueda will put his undefeated record on the line as well as fight on the road to face Mahasin. For Ocegueda, this will be the toughest fight of his career as he has only fought one undefeated fighter in his whole career, which was his very first fight against Silvanio Reyes. Reyes went on to go 0-2 for his professional career.

Mahasin on the hand has made a career out of fighting top opposition and facing guys no one has wanted to face. Mahasin has already in his short body of work that has spanned over a decade due to incarceration in early adulthood, four fighters with very good records as well as heavily avoided. Mahasin most recently in March flew to Mike Reed’s backyard to face the top prospect in a fight that many feel was closer than the scorecards indicated. Mahasin is looking to make a statement fighting another undefeated fighter, this time in his native stopping grounds, the bay area – the east bay.
