manny-pacquiao_2288470bThe tour is over and the pleasantries are gone as Manny Pacquiao and Chris Algieri embarked on a 27,000 mile press tour before their showdown in November. The fight is taking place at 144 lb. catch weight. Pacquiao has moved up in weight multiple times but according to him, there is a possibility of him moving down from welterweight to junior welterweight.

“If there’s a good fighter at 140 why not,” Pacquiao told ThaBoxingVoice.com. “That’s my natural weight (140 lbs.) It’s not hard to make weight. Any fighter has a chance to fight with me but right now but we have to focus on the Algieri fight.”

A name that was thrown around in the news was the lineal junior welterweight champion, Danny Garcia as a possible opponent for Manny Pacquiao. A fight like that would mean a co-promotion between once bitter rivals, Top Rank and Golden Boy. Pacquiao welcomes the co-promotion, if so.

“I’m happy for that. We should work together with other promoters and their fighters, so yes I’m happy for that,” said Pacquiao.

Last November, there was VADA testing for the Pacquiao-Rios bout and as per both parties, VADA will be used again. Pacquiao says it was his idea.

“I’m the one that suggested random testing,” explained Pacquiao. “Some fighters, they’re cheating, like Rios.”

A man that was in the Rios camp and the Pacquiao camp before then was Alex Ariza. Mayweather was spotted with strength and conditioning coach last week. Pacquiao says of Ariza’s cameo in the Mayweather camp, “I don’t care. He has his own life. “

Pacquiao says his focus and discipline will be key in bringing back his killer instinct. He feels that Algieri has a nice jab and is tall and long. But when asked if he should worry about anything else besides that, Manny said, “Not really.”
