Floyd Mayweather Sr.On the eve of the greatest boxing extravaganza this century, the most significant battle between the two biggest stars of the modern era. Every observer from the casual to the hardcore will take any information they can regarding the event.

Floyd Mayweather Jr(47-0, 26KO’s) vs. Manny Pacquiao(57-5-2, 38KO’s) will take place on May 2nd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The WBC, WBA Super and WBO World welterweight championships all on the line.

’Donate’s Boxing Nation’ have an almost unrivalled level of access to the Mayweather Gym even at a time like this. Recently, the man wielding the camera managed to get Floyd Sr, father and trainer of the most lucrative prizefighter in history, in front of the lens to ask some tactical questions, like ‘does Pacquiao have any openings your son will be able to take advantage of?’

“He’s open everywhere because he’s pretty in the face, thin in the waist, just our taste, and we don’t have much time to waste. Pop!”

And as to who will be considered ‘Trainer of the Year’ after May 2nd, himself or Freddie Roach, Sr said;

“I’m the best, I must confess, for all the rest there’s no contest. I will shock your man, I’m one of a kind, I’m the greatest trainer of all time.”

He carried on for a little while, but you get the drift. You would think he could have taken some freestyle lessons from 50 Cent when the rapper was still a mainstay in the Mayweather gym a few years ago. Instead of recycling the same rhymes you hear him spitting on old video footage from when Floyd Jr was still a kid. Sr, Adrien Broner and Danny Garcia could combine to make the whackest Cypher in the history of rap, period.

This man has interesting things to say. He’s a former pro who fought ‘Sugar’ Ray Leonard. He initiated his son’s journey on the path to greatness before getting locked up for five years for drug trafficking. He returned to the sport as a trainer after his release and endured a period of estrangement from his son yet again before eventually being allowed back into the fold.

His brother Roger also fought his way to stardom under ‘The Black Mamba’ moniker, taking on the likes of Julio Cesar Chavez, Vinny Pazienza and Kostya Tszyu. The tales he must have stored in his head would captivate a room full of fans into complete silence. Unfortunately, nobody is entitled to hear them, so the next best thing would be a rap battle between Sr and the latest Mayweather mascot, Justin Bieber.
