On today’s show, the panel will discuss the biggest news to come out of the weekend and since we last left you on Thursday’s show. Heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder was hoping to defend his title against Alexander Povetkin in Russia next weekend, but the fight has been called into question after news broke that Povetkin has tested positive for a WADA banned substance.

Povetkin tested positive for meldonium, a drug which is believed to increase blood flow, thus enhancing stamina for athletes. Fellow Russian athlete and Tennis star Maria Sharapova tested positive for the same drug.

A ruling is expected to be handed down very soon concerning the WBC sanctioned title fight between Wilder and Povetkin. There were many that believed the fight would go on if not be postponed long enough for Povetkin to test clean. However, recent reports suggest the fight will be canceled, although Wilder is scheduled to fly to Russia today.

TBV’s panel will discuss whether or not the fight should continue or be postponed or canceled altogether.

Today’s show will also focus on Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s recent interview on this past Friday’s ShoBox card where he specifically spoke on a potential fight with Connor McGregor. Mayweather has confirmed the rumors on a potential fight with McGregor as he referred to the MMA fighter as the leading candidate. Floyd went as far as to say that McGregor is the only fighter being considered to bring the undefeated boxer out of retirement.

We will, of course, discuss the results of the ShoBox card as well as the BET card.

And, of course, we will be taking live calls on air from you the voice of the people. From Alumni to first-time callers, we encourage everyone to call 646-478-3068 to voice your opinion.
