Mia St. John had a fighting career that lasted almost two decades. In that time she won numerous titles, fought in both boxing and MMA, and was a sex symbol for female athletes. She fought some of the best names in boxing including Christy Martin, Tori Nelson, Jelena Mrdjenovich, Holly Holm, and Cecilia Brækhus. Her last fight took place in 2016 when she stopped Lisa Lewis. She was 48 at the time.
Since stepping away from boxing Mia has had her share of ups and downs but she has managed to stand tall and get stronger with every blow life has thrown her way. She has a number of things she does to keep busy with the Mia St. John foundation which helps an array of people with mental illness, suffering from being homeless, addiction, and other issues that can affect people mentally. Aside from that, she has a podcast (which I’m not sure if she is done with) titled “In The Ring With Mia St. John.”
Mia has been away from the ring for four years but may be itching to get back in especially after what transpired this past weekend. Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. who are both in their fifties laced up their gloves and put on a show. That’s something that helped get Mia’s mind cranking.
“I still do photo shoots with my belt, but sheesh, sometimes I miss the real thing! WBC 4 Life,” stated St. John via Twitter. “If Tyson can come back!???”
As far as who she would fight if she were to return there is one name at the top of that list.
“Cris ‘Cyborg’ Justino cuz I love her.”
