pacquiao_3179641bIt was reported Michael Koncz had previously issued a January 31st deadline for all parties to come to an agreement to make the Mayweather-Pacquiao bout come to fruition. If the bout wasn’t made by then, Pacquiao’s team had made it clear they would heavily pursue other options.

Recently Lance Pugmire, a writer for The Los Angeles who has been closely monitoring these ongoing negotiations has stated through social media to not expect any announcement of the fight being made this weekend. Despite the further adjournment of this entire process, fight fans can still remain optimistic as its been reported by Boxingscene.com; Koncz told Spin.Ph he no longer wants to draw attention towards his prior deadline.

I don’t want to talk about it (deadline) anymore,” Koncz told Spin.ph. “We’re not going to set (deadlines) or cast it in stone. We’ve established a good relationship with Floyd. I expect that something will be done sooner, I am not concerned with deadlines.”

The good relationship between Mayweather and Koncz could have stemmed from their one-hour meeting at Pacquiao’s suite following their encounter during an NBA basketball game in Miami. According to USA Today Sports, the meeting initiated by Mayweather was very productive, and both parties seem to be heading towards a positive direction.

There has been a recent report by TMZ Sports that both parties have already reached a settlement, but Stephen Espinoza stated through social media that it’s not true, and there will be no announcement during the Super Bowl as some people have speculated.
