London (6 August) As sparring begins for undefeated heavyweight sensation Tyson Fury, trainer and uncle Peter Fury is “very happy” with the contributions of Michael Sprott and Dillian Whyte.

The former British and Commonwealth heavyweight champion Sprott and the undefeated Whyte have joined Tyson, 24, at his training camp in Belgium this week to help him prepare to take on David Haye at the Phones 4 U Arena Manchester on September 28th, live on Sky Sports HD Box Office.

“They’re both over here starting off the sparring and it’s nice to have the work,” Peter said.

“It’s a good atmosphere, they’re both really good lads – they’re both sparring really well and putting up really good spars.

“It’s great to get the sparring going as Tyson loves it – he’s a fighting man and he loves the hard runs, pads and especially the sparring, that’s what he enjoys the most.”

Sprott brings a wealth of experience to the team, a former English, British, Commonwealth and EBU-EU heavyweight champion.

Boasting 37 wins with 17 knockouts, he has faced the likes of Danny Williams, Matt Skelton, Audley Harrison, Ruslan Chagaev, Robert Helenius and Kubrat Pulev.

Dillian Whyte is an undefeated heavyweight prospect, boasting a perfect professional record, with nine wins from nine, including six knockouts since his debut in May 2011.

Both are a similar size to Haye, but Peter insists it is not a case of trying to copy Haye.

“It’s not so much the same styles as David Haye, they’re not the same as Haye – we are using them to work on certain things with Tyson,” Peter said.

“We haven’t got them over here to emulate Haye, but they are perfect preparation for Tyson.

“Sprott and Whyte are both top lads and consummate professionals and that’s what boxing is all about.

“They have come in here and they’re doing the job – it’s very good and I’m very happy.”
