Mike Tyson was recently being interviewed on a news program in Toronto, Ontario, Canada to talk about his Broadway show “The Undisputed Truth” which has been a hit. While in Toronto, Tyson visited Toronto’s mayor Rob Ford. The news anchor Nathan Downer told Tyson that critics would say it was not a good idea since Ford is running for re-election and and Tyson is a convicted rapist which caused the interview to take a turn for the worse.
“Some of the critics would say this is a race for mayor. You are a convicted rapist. This could hurt his campaign. How would you respond to that,” said Downer.
“I don’t know who said that. You’re the only one I heard say that,” said Tyson. “I don’t have no comment [for] that because it’s negative. You’re being negative. I met the mayor and there is nothing they could do about that.”
Tyson was sitting anxiously waiting to talk while others spoke and then interrupted, “You know it’s so interesting that you come across like a nice guy but you’re really a piece of shit! Fuck you, piece of shit!” The news anchor proceeded to tell Tyson that he couldn’t say those type of things on live TV but Tyson wasn’t hearing any of it. “I don’t care! What are you going to do about it!?”
After some brief discussion about Tyson’s Broadway show the news anchor asked Tyson if he was more nervous doing a Broadway show or boxing but Tyson’s mind was set on what the anchor said earlier.
“It’s more nerve racking for me to be up here talking to a rat piece of shit like you” That prompted the anchor to cut the interview short in which he told Tyson thank you for coming to which Tyson replied, “Fuck You!”
Luckily for the anchor Tyson is a lot less vilolent now than he was back in the day.
