John Molina (27-4, 22KOs) will prepare for his next fight under trainer Jose Santa Cruz (Leo Santa Cruz’s father).

“There’s been a change recently, I’m now with Jose Santa Cruz, it’s going to be a good thing and I’m excited about it,” Molina said.

Molina has also parted ways with Dan Goossen (Goossen Promotions). His next outing will mark his first time fighting without the Goossen Promotions’ umbrella since 2009, but being a free agent is nothing new to fighters under the Haymon flag.

“My promotional contract expired as of June, I believe. Everything was good at Goossen Promotions, it’s just that we did our 5 years and we ended on good terms, I felt I’d like to try a different avenue so I didn’t resign a contract with Goossen Promotions,” Molina said.

Molina continued, “We’ve always had a great relationship with Dan, we had a great run together. They did their job and I’m happy with what they did for my career.”
