garcia34The main event between Danny Garcia and Rod Salka ended much like it was anticipated by many fans. Garcia looked to be about two weight classes bigger than Salka.  Salka spent much of the first round on his toes pumping out his weak flickering  jab while Garcia was stalking forward.  In round 2 Danny Garcia set up a beautiful straight cross that landed right on Salka’s chin.  Salka went down but bravely beat the count.  He later went down again from a barrage of punches from Danny in the same round.  Garcia later finished off Salka with a nice one punch knockout by throwing a lead cross to Salka’s body then firing a left hook to Salka’s head.  Salka laid flat on the ground as soon as the punch landed and Garcia got himself an easy 2nd round KO and improves his record to (29-0, 17 KO’s) while Salka drops to (19-3 3, KO’s).

Hopefully this is the last time Showtime televises a card like this since it was probably the worst card I have seen in a long time.  Garcia vs. Peterson seems like to be on the horizon next and I hope that fight will be made in the near future.
