Manny Pacquiao“We know that the fans have been waiting for this fight a long time ago, almost five six years,” Manny Pacquiao told the media that was one hand at his media workout last week. He’s right, everyone involved in boxing has been waiting for this fight for the longest. Fingers were pointed, words were said, and maybe this fight isn’t at its ripest moment like it was in 2009-2010, but it’s nearly a week away.

Pacquiao says he gave into demands because he wanted the fight to happen, and he’d be open to discussing another one after the fight, but that thought it far from his mind.

“I don’t know it’s hard to say,” Pacquiao said regarding a rematch or a third fight. “Maybe after the fight we become best of friends and we discuss another possible fight.”

Mayweather has taken plenty of jabs throughout the years at Pacquiao but to Pacquiao it’s nothing personal. Come fight night, this all comes with the territory of being a fighter and Pacquiao reiterated that it’s nothing personal

“This fight, I just want to send this message to him, nothing personal, we are just doing our job,” Pacquiao said.” After the fight, if I could talk to him then I want to share the gospel of God, share with him why we need God. I just want to share that we need to be saved.”

Pacquiao in the past has had distractions in his camp. Whether it be the massive entourage or fallouts between members of his team, there always seems to be a story. But Pacquiao feels that as long as he’s doing his work, there is no distraction.

“This is what I know, what is a distraction? If I’m training and doing things like this but not doing good work, then it’s a distraction. But if I’m training hard and doing good work, then it’s not a distraction.”
