Last December Paulie Malignaggi took on Zab Judah in the battle for Brooklyn supremacy with Malignaggi utilizing his jab to win a decision over Judah. Since then little has been said about whom Malignaggi will face next.

In a recent interview with Tha Boxing Voice Malignaggi stated that he is not sure on who he will face but he will be ready.

” I haven’t heard anything concrete yet,” said Malignaggi. “I’ve been told to keep on the lookout. Something will come up soon and I’ll be ready. I’m back on the road, doing roadwork and will be back in the gym soon enough.”

On January 30th the boxing world will have its eyes on Brooklyn while Victor Ortiz and Luis Collazo face off inside the ring. Malignaggi will be calling the fight between the two and may be scouting his next opponent whether it be Ortiz or Collazo that has yet to be determined but the “Magic Man” believes Collazo has a good shot at winning Thursday night but seems hesitant to face Collazo should he win.

“One thing about Luis, I grew up around Luis. I knew him since I was a teenager. I don’t know if I would want to fight Luis. I give him definitely a good shot at beating Ortiz. I wouldn’t be shocked at all. Luis Collazo a very good fighter who doesn’t get the credit he deserves and I think that’s a solid, solid fight next week and I am looking forward to being there watching it. We’ll see how it plays out. I think it’s a blockbuster fight. I think it’s a blockbuster card even Arnett and Gomez.”
