Caleb PlantCaleb “Sweet Hands” Plant vs. Oscar Rojas was built up to be a step-up fight for “Sweet Hands.” His opponent has been in tough fights against well-known competition such as Terrell Gausha and Hector Escobedo. Caleb Plant became the second man to knock out Rojas, in perhaps the worst fashion in his career.

Plant improved to 8-0 with a 4th-round KO of Rojas. Plant used his reach and size advantage to start this fight, utilizing that long jab, keeping the rough charging Mexican Rojas at bay.

The first round was clearly a feeling out round for Plant.

In the second round Rojas, tried to jump on Plant. Realizing he wasn’t going to win the fight on the outside, he tried to swarm Plant.

Although Rojas reverted to some dirty tactics, Rojas was a game opponent putting plenty pressure on Plant, but was mostly ineffective as Plant slipped out of the way and never stayed cornered, which was a true display of advanced boxing skills on defense as well as offense.

In the third round, things look to be going the same. Plant was on the outside and Rojas was trying desperately to get on the inside, but Plant was using the whole ring and some good left hands to keep Rojas away.

The fourth concluded the fight, as Plant connected with a vicious left hook as Rojas was coming in. The referee called a halt to the action immediately as Rojas lay on the canvas.

Plant is on the come up look out for him as he rises the ranks. He has now improved to (8-0, 7 KO’s). With Al Haymon in his corner, he is in line to become a known super-middleweight and is almost guaranteed a big name fight when it’s time for him to step up.
