The WBC has often been criticized for the actions that they take and their recent actions are no better. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. has been dropped from the middleweight rankings and that is not what is sickening. Chavez has been ranked #2 in the super middleweight division and that is.

Chavez last fought against Brian Vera in a fight that was speculated to have many different weights at different periods before the fight actually happened. Chavez walked away from that fight the victor but according to a majority of the people that watched the fight , Chavez did not deserve the victory.

So “beating” Vera who has fought mainly at middleweight warrants Chavez to be #2 above so many other boxers that have accomplished more at the weight really shows that politics and money beat accomplishments any day.

This is not the first time this year that the WBC has made a questionable call. Earlier in the year Amir Khan towards the top on the 147 pound division after a devastating KO loss and having never fought at 147 before shows that you can’t teach an old dog new tricks but an old dog is more than happy to show you it’s old tricks.
