This Saturday August 3rd at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, Connecticut boxing returns to NBC Sports with an exciting triple header.

Headlining the night will be Middleweight Curtis “Showtime” Stevens (24-3 17KOs) when he takes on Saul Roman (37-9 31KOs). Stevens is coming off a unanimous decision win over Derrick Findley back in April and hopes to continue his rise up the Middleweight rankings. Stevens has explosive power and a fan friendly fighting style, which leaves no questions to why his name has made its way to casual fight fans. Stevens name has recently been brought up on a short list of fighters who could get a shot at the WBA champion Gennady Golovkin when he makes his ring return in November. A win this Saturday is a must for Stevens to ensure he remains in the conversation for the title shot. Saul Roman has had career up and downs. Roman at 33 years has fought and lost to a long list of top fighters, but the veteran will be looking to upset and derail Stevens title shot aspirations.

On the undercard “Fast” Eddie Chambers (36-3 18KOs) makes his return to Cruiserweight fighting Thabiso Mchunu (13-1 10KOs). In Chambers last time out, he lost a controversial unanimous decision to Tomasz Adamek (also on the card) where many fans think he did enough to win the bout. Mchunu is a South African native where the majority of his fights have been and he will have a difficult task beating Chambers but with youth on his side at 24 years of age he hopes to showcase his talents on the national stage.

Also on the undercard is a Heavyweight bout between Tomasz Adamek (48-2 29KOs) against Dominick Guinn (34-9 24KOs). Adamek a veteran of the Heavyweight division is coming off a controversial win over the former IBF Cruiserweight champion Steve Cunningham. In this fight Dominick Guinn would like to right his wrongs as three of his last four fights have been losses.
