Algieri recovered and boxed well enough to earn a decision. The fight could have gone either way but the way the story goes is Algieri is sharing private jets with his team and flying 27,000 miles to promote his pay-per-view fight with Manny Pacquiao. While Provodnikov sits and waits for an opponent and return date.

“Its business,” Provodnikov told ThaBoxingVoice.com regarding his loss to Algieri and Algieri ending up with the rich spoils of a Pacquiao fight.”

Provodnikov has been mentioned with a lot of possible fights, including one Brandon Rios but says Rios doesn’t want the fight.

“We are ready to fight Rios or anybody, somebody has to stop and fight me. “It seems that everybody is avoiding Ruslan right now. “

Now that it’s right but even when you beat Ruslan, you lose. The 3 opponents that beat him, all have ended up in a hospital after the fight, so you can see why there might be some tendencies not to fight the “Siberian Rocky.”

With his options seemingly thin for now, Provodnikov is open to fights with other fighters like Carlos Abregu.

“A fight with either Argentine guy, Abregu or Chaves, is a good fight for us. A win over them and we’re back in the middle of things,” explained Provodnikov.

Whether it’s 140 or 147, Provodnikov would want the winner of Pacquiao-Algieri. “Either weight works for me. I’ll go to Macau. We are definitely waiting for that fight and we would be interested in fighting a rematch with Algieri or a fight with Pacquiao. “
