Ray Beltran Issues Statement On Rocky Martinez Withdrawal

Ray Beltran was just a week away from one the biggest fights of his career which would have provided him great exposure and an opportunity to shine should he be victorious but things have changed and Roman “Rocky” Martinez has pulled out of the bout but the opportunity is still there for Beltran to shine and it should be with a credible opponent.

Beltran took to Facebook recently to speak about the situation stating that Martinez withdrew with an illness. Beltran also assured that they (he and Top Rank) will announce the opponent once everything is confirmed but rumors and supposed confirmations have circled the internet of Arash Usmanee replacing Martinez.

“I want to make an announcement because there have been many rumors circulating about my upcoming fight next week,” said Beltran.  “I would like to let you know that Roman Martinez has withdrawn from our fight, apparently due to illness. My promoter Top Rank is working on another opponent and they have assured me I will still be fighting. As soon as the fight is secured we will make the announcement. I love you guys and thank you for your support. I promise you I will fight my heart out on April 12th and deliver you a great show.”
