On January 4th Canelo Promotions put on their first event of the new year with the card titled “Noche De Dinamita” which took place at Polideportivo Río de Janeiro in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico.
The greatest bout of the night took place between Jorge “Piolin” Lara and Jairo Hernandez which was a slugfest.
Lara was able to cut the ring off in the second and rock his opponent. It seemed as if the fight would end within the upcoming round but in the sixth round Hernandez started to come back and even up the scorecards.
By the ninth round Hernandez face was cut badly but he was able to capitalize on a fatigued Lara.
Lara won a majority decision with the judges’ scorecards reading: 95-95, 97-96, 96-94.
Other bouts on the card saw Ganigan Lopez win a 12 round unanimous decision over Mario Rodrigues, Ramon Alvarez won with a second round TKO over Gilbero Flores Hernandez, Horacio Garcia also with a second round TKO over Cesar Saucedo and Alondra Ochoa Garcia won a unanimous decision over Veronica Rodriguez.
