When boxing fans think about great matchmaking, fights like Ali-Frazier, Gatti-Ward, and Leonard-Hearns come to mind, but is there such thing as a perfect match? Well, it seems that undefeated super middleweight Shadasia Green has found her perfect match.

Congratulations go out to Paterson, New Jersey’s own Shadasia Green, and her long-time partner, who is also named Shadasia. That’s right, they share the same name. This is a level of matchmaking that would give Roberto Diaz and Bruce Trampler a run for their money.

The plan was to gather a large group, but in the end, the couple shared their amazing day with an intimate gathering of family and friends in Aruba. The setting was elegant and classy and both women were dressed impeccably. They both just looked so happy and the clear love for one another radiates through the screen.

Shadasia’s instincts in the ring are incredible and she was just as impressive on the basketball court as a star guard for both her high school and college teams, but not even she could sense just how perfect this day would end.

She had the perfect plan and she had her partner’s dream ring in hand, but little did she know that she would not be the only one proposing that day. In fact, her partner was also with a ring in hand and planned on proposing as well. Video of the dual proposal went viral on multiple social media platforms. It is one of those internet videos that just puts a smile on your face, the kind that puts you in a good mood.

Currently, Shadasia (8-0, 7KOs) is preparing for her next fight on September 25th against undefeated Mexican fighter Angelica Lopez Flores (13-0). The fight is being contested at the super middleweight limit of 168lbs with the WBC Silver Super Middleweight title on the line.

This is a real test for both fighters and the winner will be on the receiving end of serious momentum. Shadasia is currently ranked #4 in the IBO’s rankings and Angelica is the #2 fighter in the light heavyweight division according to Boxrec.

For a fighter, the challenges that come with gym life can put a strain on any relationship, but that is what makes their relationship so special. In fact, Shadasia’s fiancé has even cut weight with her in preparation for past fights, with the specific goal of supporting Shadasia. Cutting weight can be lonely, and that kind of commitment and dedication is just one of the many beautiful aspects of their relationship.

“She’s been supporting me for such a long time, we’re best friends,” Shadasia said days following the proposal. “She knows the routine. She knows what it takes and she’s there for me 100%. We help each other grow and it’s just been unmatched since I met her.”

This next fight certainly feels like it is Shadasia’s opportunity. For one, she is a high-level athlete that played college basketball and received many accolades during her NCAA career. This is a woman that could have excelled in any sport she tried, but her first love was always boxing.

As for her current love, the two plan on getting hitched next year and with both of their birthdays falling 5 weeks apart to the date, there are plenty of options for a potential summer wedding. The plan is to do things big! And who knows, in a year’s time, the couple could consider green and gold as the wedding colors, perhaps to match another accessory around her waist.
