We are just days away from the biggest fight in boxing history. Freddie Roach was on hand at the Manny Pacquiao media workout in preparation for Floyd Mayweather, and he even he felt it was crazier than expected.
“After the press conference, I thought it’d be a little crazy, not this crazy,” Roach told Dontae’s Boxing Nation When the best fights the best, this is what happens.”
Mayweather expects a difficult fight but feels he had the right strategy five years ago and even more so know for Floyd Mayweather Jr.
“It’s a difficult fight, the strategy we came up with is good and I think it will work,” stated Roach “Maybe 5 years, it would have been more difficult because he could move more. He says he wants to exchange more and please the crowd. When he takes his breaks on the ropes, I think we can outscore him and take advantage of it. “
Pacquiao will have to box in spots to win Roach says. He feels that Pacquiao’s movement will be key in winning the fight, as well as hand speed.
“He (Pacquiao) has great legs, and you’ll see some movement from Pacquiao,” Roach said. “It’s going to be a very tactical fight and if we carry the strategy through, I think we’ll win.”
Mayweather has been posting videos of himself chopping wood via social media and many people feel that Mayweather may be trying to knock Manny Pacquiao out. This is music to Freddie Roach’s ears.
“That would be my dream come true, and we’ll be ready for that and we have prepared for something like that. They both have different styles, I think Mayweather is better but styles makes fights , and this is a whole different style Just cause Marquez beat Manny once doesn’t mean we lose to Floyd. Manny learned from it and is more experienced.”
