This week we had the typical name dropping off the fight because its fight week for Manny Pacquiao and usually each name is used when the other is fighting.

But when the La Times reported that Showtime is involved and confirmed that Mayweather wants Pacquiao in an email sent to the La Times, the optimism has heightened.

Freddie Roach isn’t buying it yet.

“I’ve been waiting for 3 ½ years,” Roach told BoxingScene.com. What’s to make me think it’s going to happen. He hasn’t signed any contracts. There have been no negotiations going on. Arum says there are talks. I talked to Les Moonves of CBS and he wants it also. But can they deliver? I don’t think so”

Roach has always hinted Pacquiao could beat Mayweather even saying Mayweather has shot legs. Even so the drama in Mayweather-Pacquiao continues as optimism turns to pessimism quickly
