WBO junior lightweight champion Roman “Rocky” Martinez is spot on with his training and making weight for his upcoming title defense against Miguel “Mikey” Garcia on November 9th in Corpus Christi, Texas. How close is Martinez to making weight? He is just under 3 pounds away from making the limit.
“We are good on weight and feeling good,” said Martinez. “I am eating well and working hard for this very important fight.” Martinez has been working with Raul Torres and Freddy Trinidad to help prepare him for the biggest fight so far in his career and according to Martinez, he is in the best shape of his career.
“I have done about 100 rounds and have worked with Luis Cruz, Miguel Marrero and some other boxers who have helped prepare me. I will have no excuses because I am at 100% and am in the prime of my career.”
