After the first round, Gonzalez constantly applied effective aggressiveness. He battered Fuentes with sharp combinations, while remaining defensively aware. Fuentes was simply overpowered by Gonzalez and was TKO’d in the 6th round.

It is apparent the more Gonzalez fights, the greater demand he becomes to appear on a major cable television network such as HBO or Showtime. He has made it clear he wants to appear on either network against Juan Francisco Estrada to unify all the title belts in the flyweight division.

Gonzalez also plans to possibly team up with the legendary trainer Nacho Baristain in the year 2015. Gonzalez respects his work, realizes there are no language barriers, and is very fond of Juan Manuel Marquez. This move in Gonzalez’s career is uncertain but he seems very adamant in the partnership. As of now, the three time world champion’s career seems to be constantly growing in popularity, and at age 27 he certainly has much more to offer.

Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez’s immediate future looks promising, and great things can be expected from the Nicaraguan fighter in 2015.
