Nicaraguan fan favorite Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez (35-0, 29 KO’s) legacy keeps building but has hit a snag in him being unable to secure an opponent to face within the coming months. He wants to stay busy but the willingness of opponents to step in the ring with him is very short and worthy opponents are even shorter. As most people in life, Gonzalez’ camp has plans set out and hopefully those plans will be put in motion.

The first and main plan for Gonzalez is to face Kazuto Ioka (12-0, 8 KO’s) from Japan. Ioka holds the regular 108 pound WBA championship. If the fight falls through, which is highly possible due to recent reports, Gonzalez could face some other fighters at 108 pounds but none really are worthy.

The second plan involves Gonzalez vacating his super flyweight championship and challenging Juan Carlos Revecco (31-1, 17 KO’s) of Argentina for Revecco’s 112 pound title. Should Gonzalez challenge for the title then Revecco must accept the challenge or vacate.
Whichever plan the Gonzalez plans to take his agent has guarenteed that he will return to the ring in August, September and November. International promoter Akihiko Honda plans for Gonzalez to fight in Malaysia and Japan later this year.
