Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez has currently stepped up his sparring sessions in preparation for his upcoming bout that is taking place on April 6th in Japan. Among his sparring partners are prospect Felix “Gemelo” Alvarado whom sparred six rounds with Gonzalez, Alcides Martinez and Carlos Osorio who sparred three rounds each with Gonzalez.

Alvarado felt Gonzalez’ power during sparring despite being heavier than Gonzalez and feels that anyone that goes up against the former world champion will get knocked out.

“‘Chocolatito’ is very strong,” said Alvarado. “I felt his power despite being heavier and he is losing weight. I don’t have the slightest doubt that anyone that goes up against him will get knocked out.”

Gonzalez’ head coach Arnulfo Obando was very pleased with the sparring sessions as Gonzalez’ is working on adding angles and lateral movements to his arsenal.

“I enjoyed the sparring sessions that transpired today because Felix made sure Roma succeeded in preparation.” said Obando. “For this next fight on April 6th in Japan everyone can see speed and the aggressiveness of Gonzalez.”
