In what looked to be a slow year for 108 pound WBA super champion Roman “El Chocolatito” Gonzalez (36-0, 30 KO’s) is finally picking up.
Gonzalez last fought on September 21st scoring a 7th round TKO over Francisco Rodriguez and is now slated to face off against another Mexican opponent on November 10th in Japan. His opponent, Oscar Blanquet (32-6-1, 23 KO’s) who has lost his last two bouts with the last fight being for the WBC flyweight title against Akira Yaegashi.
Gonzalez had planned on facing WBA champion Juan Carlos Reveco but with Reveco’s fight being pushed back due to an injury. Gonzalez was unaware of Reveco’s injury until the day of Gonzalez’ last fight so a fight with Reveco was pretty much out the window for the time being.
