If you were to look at Ryan Ford’s boxing record you would see that he’s a busy man when it comes to fighting. He fought six times in 2017 alone and three times in 2018. He lost four of his last six bouts in his opponent’s backyards via controversial decision with his last bout taking place in February of this year.

Ford was slated to fight on March 8th in his hometown of Edmonton but the cities commission deemed him unfit to compete. It may have been a blessing in disguise as a gave Ford more time to prepare for his bout against Serge Michel on April 6th in Germany.

Ford was brought in as an opponent for Michel that I was expected to lose but Ford did not get the memo. Not only did Ford take the fight to Michel he knocked him the fuck out the eighth round with two beautifully timed punches to claim the vacant WBC International Silver light heavyweight title.

In doing so, Ford did not give judges an opportunity to rob him and pushed himself one step closer to bringing a major men’s world title fight to his hometown of Edmonton.
