Ryan Ford vs. Rob Nichols Announced for KO 78

On March 10th, KO Boxing will hold its first event of the year and while fights are being finalized and everything comes into place one of the biggest fights to come to Edmonton has been made. Ryan “The Real Deal” Ford and Rob “Raging Bull” Nichols will square off in a six-round bout.

Ford is currently ranked the number three light heavyweight boxer in Canada and will be moving up in weight for his bout with Nichols. Ford last fought on February 17th in Singapore and won the UBO light heavyweight world title with a ninth round TKO over Sam Rapira. Ford announced the fight with Nichols via Facebook on February  28th.

“Next Friday the 10th, KO Boxing I’m moving up a weight class taking on the Canadian cruiserweight champion Rob Nichols (11-3). Unfortunately, it’s not for the belt. It will be 6 rounds. I’m still in shape for 12 so I will have  extra gas [in the] tank!”

Nichols was slated to defend his cruiserweight title on February 18th against David Whittom but due that fight fell through due to issues with the promoter. Luckily for Nichols, all that time training will not go to waste.
