Recently, Sadam Ali signed a contract with Golden Boy, and in just a few weeks he will headline his first show in his backyard at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.  On September 30th Sadam Ali will take on Jay Krupp (17-5 8KOs). Most 24 year old fighters are nervous fighting on the main stage in the bright lights of the big apple, but not Ali. He’s confident and ready for the opportunity. “It feels great and I’m really excited. It’s going to be at the Barclays center, that’s where I want it to be, that’s my home.”

Brooklyn has been a breeding ground of talent for some time.  Fellow Brooklynites include Zab Judah, Paul Malignaggi, Danny Jacobs, and Luis Collazo and all have competed at the top level. Ali is ready to follow in their footstep and make a new path. Ali stated, “I’m happy about everything that’s going on with them and my time will come.”

Undefeated, with sixteen wins under his belt, most would think that he would have been signed to a promotional contract years ago. Ali wasn’t signing a long term contract just for the sake of being signed “I just wanted to wait for the right time to sign,” stated Ali.  Now with Golden Boy holding his promotional banner Ali is ready to step up. “It was really about the time I was ready to step up and to take the big stage.”

Golden Boy has been making great fights all year and Ali understands that with them backing him, he will get the right fights “They have a lot of 147 (fighters). They can put me in the right position.”  With his new contract and big things in his future, Ali is ready to step up and put on a show. “I’m just here to put on a good fight, to show what I got and to be the best.”

Sadam Ali is currently being trained by Andre Rozier. Rozier also trains Curtis Stevens, Demetrius Andrade and Danny Jacobs just to name a few. With a large stable of fighters, Ali is surrounded by the type of talent to take him to the next level. “I’m around the right people. I’m training hard and getting ready.”
