Saul-Alvarez-and-Oscar-De-La-HoyaCanelo Alvarez has already begun training for his upcoming bout against James Kirkland despite, not having an official date or venue for the fight. According to Boxingscene.com, Oscar De La Hoya stated they are waiting to see if Mayweather-Pacquiao will truly happen on May 2nd at the MGM Grand. If so De La Hoya plans to sort Alvarez-Kirkland on May 9th possibly at the Alamodome in San Antonio or the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.

Alvarez has yet to undergo any intense preparation for his upcoming bout, but still feels slight discomfort towards his ankle, which he injured in late 2014. According to Boxingscene.com manager, Chepo Reynoso told ESPN Deportes, “He has pain in the ankle at the end of the jogging runs. He puts his ankle in ice water and then in warm water; everything is under control.”

If Alvarez is indeed experiencing a slight uneasiness towards his ankle, its a bit odd for him to be doing unnecessary flips in extracurricular activities not related to boxing as shown on his Instagram. He certainly isn’t behaving like a person who has much concern nor experiencing any sort of a debilitating effect in regards to his ankle.
