2afzwnoThe last two months in the world of boxing in the United States has been very barren to say the least. Minus a Floyd Mayweather-Marcos Maidana pay-per-view and Mexican style this past weekend, all we’ve had were two ESPN2 special edition cards sandwiched in between. November brings a different tune as the two biggest cards will be on HBO and HBO Pay-per-view. Bernard Hopkins takes on Sergey Kovalev on November 8th on HBO while Manny Pacquiao takes on undefeated Chris Algieri on November 22nd from Macao China. While many people believe Manny Pacquiao wins it running away, former world champion and former Pacquiao sparring partner, Shawn Porter believes it will be a good fight.

“I believe it’s going to be a good fight,” Porter told ThaBoxingVoice.com. “I think Algieri has some unbelievable feet and he has some good hand speed. On the other hand I’ve worked with Manny in the past and I’m looking forward to his next fight and I’m looking forward to seeing the old Manny in the ring, I think he still has the fire and I think we’ll see that in the ring.”

As far as his pick goes, he’s rooting for his former gym mate.

“I think Manny wins that fight and I think it will go the distance. I think Algieri will be able to use his hand speed and his foot speed but I do think that Manny will win the decision,” explained Porter

As far as the Alien taking on the Krusher on November 8th, Porter is rooting for Hopkins but his pick wasn’t as definitive as his Pacquiao-Algieri pick.

“I think it’s tough to call and I do want Bernard to win, it’ll be historical but he’s in tough. I think he knows what he’s doing and I hope he wins.”
