LOS ANGELES, March 8 – The intriguing March 8 edition of  ShoBox: The New Generation at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio, Calif. featuring the junior middleweight showdown between unbeaten Hugo Centeno Jr. (17-0, 9 KO’s) and KeAndrae Leatherwood (12-1-1, 8 KO’s) and the junior lightweight match pitting Puerto Rican power puncher Braulio Santos (9-0, 8 KO’s) against Los Angeles’ Kevin Hoskins (7-1, 5 KO’s) will be preceded by a full slate of undercard action that features rising stars including undefeated lightweight prospect Jamie Kavanagh, 2012 United States Olympian Dominic Breazeale and local heavyweight favorite Gerald Washington.

The event is presented by Golden Boy Promotions and sponsored by Corona. Doors open at 5:00 p.m. PT with the first bell sounding at 5:15 p.m. PT.  The ShoBox: The New Generation broadcast airs live on SHOWTIME® at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT (delayed on the West Coast).

Dublin-born Jamie “The Nuisance” Kavanagh (12-0-1, 5 KO’s) has become a popular figure on the Southern California fight scene since relocating to the United States and he’s looking forward to his first appearance at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino.  Fresh off of an exciting victory over fellow prospect Ramon Valadez last November, the 22-year-old Irishman who now makes his home in Hollywood will meet the always tough Los Angeles product Sal Garcia (14-6-2, 7 KO’s) who is hoping to capture an upset victory.

The heavyweight bout between 2012 United States Olympian Dominic Breazeale (3-0, 3 KO’s) and Montgomery, Alabama’s Ronny Hale (2-5, 2 KO’s) is scheduled for four rounds, but Alhambra’s Breazeale has made short work of all his pro opponents thus far, so don’t blink.

Former USC defensive end Gerald Washington (6-0, 4 KO’s) has been impressive in his move from the gridiron to the ring, with half of his wins coming by way of first round knockout.  On Friday, the 30-year-old will face the toughest test of his young career in the form of Jacksonville, Florida’s Curtis Harper (7-1, 6 KO’s), who has won seven straight, with four first round finishes of his own.

In a four round bantamweight bout, Indio’s own Jorge Porras (0-1) meets Riverside’s Fernando Fuentes (0-1) and in a four round featherweight fight, Los Angeles’ Manny Robles Jr. (3-0, 2 KO’s) looks to go 4-0 as a pro when he takes on San Bernardino’s Juan Sandoval (7-12-1, 4 KO’s).
