Boy I tell you some fans/haters/dick riders in boxing are a broken fucking record and can never come up with anything new to talk about. Repeats and reruns are good for nostalgia but eventually shit can get old fast just like certain fighters.
After Canelo’s KO victory over Caleb Plant last night the haters crept out from their cave or their mom’s basement with their demands of a third fight between the pound for pound king and GGG. After three years these fuckers are still hung up on a third fight happening. It did not help either with Eddie Hearn talking about a third fight happening (not Canelo’s fight GGG was lured to DAZN with a promise of a third fight against him).
I as well as many others have zero interest in the fight happening and for good reason. What has GGG done since the second Canelo fight? He had two one-sided victories against overmatched opponents and struggled hard against Sergiy Derevyenchenko (there are many that felt GGG lost that fight). The lack of opposition and activity have hurt him and he has not really tested himself either and there are fighters out there he could do so against.
There are two fighters out there that haters often accuse Canelo of ducking that GGG could fight. Those fighters are Jermall Charlo and Demetrius Andrade.
If GGG really wanted to put Canelo on notice a definitive victory over either should do so. Before he does that we have to see how he looks against Ryoto Murata later this year.
I understand he is not getting any younger and he has been one of the most avoided fighters (I’m actually a fan of his) but boxing has always been a case of what have you done for me lately and lately he has not done shit. Give us a reason for the fight to be made and not just because people are holding on to what once was.
