Prior to his 12-round decision win over Shawn Porter, welterweight champ Keith Thurman knew there was work to be done on the inside. Over the course of several interviews with Tha Boxing Voice, Thurman dissected sparring footage, talked strategy and provided insight into how the fight might play out.
“This short little (right uppercut) is going to lift him up,” Thurman said. “The goal is to — on the inside — be more effective. They think I’m weak to the body. Shawn Porter’s never been hit to the body by a power puncher. Let’s see how he can take a body shot. So it’s going to be very interesting on the inside.”
