Tim Bradley: ‘Floyd Is His Own Boss When He’s Ready to Fight Me He Will’

Floyd Mayweather’s name doesn’t only just come up in interviews with Manny Pacquiao, but now it seems that ever since WBO Welterweight Champion Timothy Bradley beat Juan Manuel Marquez last October and became the number three pound for pound fighter in the world, he has to answer that same question that Pacquiao gets asked all the time. “Do you think that you will ever fight Floyd Mayweather?”

Last Thursday in New York City at the second stop of the promotional tour for his upcoming rematch against Manny Pacquiao on April 12, Bradley was asked that same question once again and he responded, “I always say that I’m on a different planet than Floyd is and Floyd has always said that, ‘I’m my own boss and I do what I want,’ which is true he does whatever he wants. When Floyd wants to fight one of us or the winner of this fight, he can do that he’s his own boss, so that’s all I have to say about it.” Bradley added, “I’m on my own course. If he wants to get on my course he can get on my course. He’s the eight hundred pound gorilla, but it’s up to him.”

It would seem only natural that the winner of the fight between Tim Bradley and Manny Pacquiao would be the most logical opponent for pound for pound king Floyd Mayweather. If Bradley does end up winning, let’s hope he doesn’t have to wait as long as Pacquiao has been waiting and that Floyd steps up to the plate and meets the challenge.
