Two of PBC’s most noteworthy fighters are hoping to secure a major fight to close out the year.

Robert Guerrero and Erislandy Lara plan on closing out their 2015 campaign against strong opposition, although not against each other.

Thaboxingvoice.com caught up with the manager for both fighters, Luis De Cubas Jr., who said that Lara will indeed be fighting before this year is done.

De Cubas says that Lara will fight in November in Miami, although he did not give an exact date because he said that it would most likely change to another date, still in November.

There is no opponent set, but that is only because they are trying to secure the biggest fights possible, some of which are represented by fighters with matchups in the coming weeks. Depending on who wins and whether or not they were beaten too much to have a quick turnaround.

As for Guerrero, De Cubas is working on a major promotion for the California based fighter. The fight they are hoping to make is so big that it may not happen until early 2016, although the hope is sooner.

“We’re working on Robert’s next fight with the team and Robert’s going to get a big, big fight. That’s what we’re working on. He’s obviously one of the best fighters in the whole sport, so he wants to fight the top guys. We’re working on a real big fight for the end of the year, beginning of next year.”

There have been rumors of Guerrero fighting Danny Garcia, which would certainly be a big promotion. We’ll have to see, but Guerrero-Garcia is worth waiting for until end of the year or early next year.
