Screenshot_2014-08-19-15-14-55_1In today’s day and age with technology it seems that fighters voice themselves more and more on social media and call out other fighters more online than in post fight interviews but then again not everyone gets that opportunity for televised fights.

Vanes Martirosyan fought almost five months ago and hasn’t had any lucrative offers as of late for a fight that could put him in a position he wants to be in and so he has taken to social media to call out top junior middleweights. Martirosyan has taken numerous shots at Erislandy Lara and Demitrius Andrade but has approached two other fighters in a more respectful tone. Those fighters, Ishe Smith and Saul Alvarez.

Fighting Alvarez would be the biggest fight of Martirosyan’s career and a victory would do wonders for him. Martirosyan took a shot at Lara while complimenting (or buttering up) Alvarez while asking for a shot at the Mexican superstar.

“Maybe I should try to fight Canelo next because he’s the one who fights guys that call him out and proves he’s better,” said Martirosyan. “[Canelo] Would you be down to fight me next? All other 154 [pounders] are acting like bitches.”
