When you hear the name, Vasyl Lomachenko, you immediately think precision, speed, endurance, sleekness, and excellence. So when having to make the long drive from New Jersey to Maryland to see the excellence of Lomachenko, you also want a ride with those same qualities. The Mazda CX-9 Excursion embodies that efficiency of a Vasyl Lomachenko.
Since we were going to be in a 3+ hour commute from Jersey City to the greater Washington D.C. area with a 4-man crew with all of our equipment, a spacious yes efficient automobile would be ideal. The Mazda CX-9 delivered on that with having three rows of seats and a spacious bed in the back. Plus with a number of people and equipment, having the multitude of USB ports was not only essential but a godsend.
The all-wheel drive and sports mode capabilities of the CX-9 were both surprising and made for an incredible ride. Driving the Mazda CX-9 was smooth and the handling ability with the sports mode engaged is truly luxurious. It made driving in the packed and busy interstates and freeways both extremely easy and rather enjoyable. Since the weather is still in a semi-winter stage, the seat warmers came in handy for the late night and cold drive back to Jersey City. From small details such as the seamless ability to switch which phone was playing music to the massive sunroof, the Mazda CX-9 felt like a luxurious car at a relatively modest price.
Not only did Vasyl Lomachenko deal with his opponent Jason Sosa with “Hi-Tech” skills, but the ride that helped TBV capture it all had a whole other sphere of high-level technology. Both robust and slick––both efficient and visceral. The leather seats to the gun metal rims, this car was everything any person can ask for in an automobile. The Mazda CX-9 can be for the sport-loving dad or the career driven mom. Its adaptability and functionality make it a great choice for a family, and it’s a car that we can’t wait to use again for our next sponsored TBV trip to cover the best sport around, boxing.
