Verdejo Is Looking to Make His Mark on the Puerto Rican Boxing Scene

    downloadFelix Verdejo (15-0, 11 KOs) will be fighting for all his Puerto Rican fans in Philadelphia on Saturday December 13th. The young and fierce lightweight caught up with Tha Boxing Voice and we spoke on the up and comer’s style, plus present and future fights.

    When asked about what his style is based off of, because of the constant Tito Trinidad comparisons. Verdejo respond saying, “I don’t really know. I have my own style. I consider myself a boxer puncher, its a honor being compared to Tito Trinidad.” Verdejo is on pace to becoming one of Puerto Rico’s greatest fighters. He has a tremendous following among his countrymen and plus he is a crowd pleaser and immensely talented. Tha Boxing Voice asked Verdejo how he keeps focus amidst all the hype around him with only 15 fights under his belt. “I use it as motivation to keep training to keep up the expectations people have of me!”

    Verdejo most likely will put on a show on Saturday going against veteran Karim El Ouazghari (16-5-2, 4  KOs) who has been knocked out three of his last five fights all five being losses as well. Look for a good night for Verdejo in this one and look for Verdejo on the horizon of facing off against a big name in the future.
